This is one of my favorite recipes to make over the holidays or on family trips. It’s so nice to throw everything together the night before and just pop it in the oven in the morning. It’s always a crowd favorite!
Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 ½ cups milk
½ cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
1 loaf Texas Toast
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Directions:
Day before
1. Melt butter
2. Add brown sugar to melted butter and stir until mixed
3. Pour butter and brown sugar mix into bottom of 9×13 pan and spread around to cover
4. Beat eggs and combine with milk and vanilla
5. Add layer of texas toast to bottom of pan (over butter and brown sugar mix)
6. Spoon half of egg mixture over texas toast
7. Add a second layer of texas toast
8. Spoon on remaining egg mixture
9. Cover and chill overnight in the fridge
Morning of
1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Bake for 45 minutes with lid on pan
3. Remove lid with 15 minutes remaining in bake time
4. When done baking, flip over in pan so the french toast is on the lid
5. Remove pan, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve
